Evey term Concord High School receives a group of Cleveland Street Intensive English Centre (IEC)students as part of their school transition program. Students experience Australian High School life for a week prior to their actual enrolment to local school.
Cleveland Street IEC is an English learning centre for students who have just moved to Australia from overseas. The transition program is to help students to settle and adjust to the high school atmosphere.
During the week, IEC students are paired with Concord buddies, who assist and support them during their visit and to be a good friend. Concord students have been involved in the program for many years and often volunteer themselves each year.
Cleveland Street students find this unique opportunity to be very helpful for them to learn how to interact with local students and enjoy the upcoming high school life.
