High potential and gifted ACADEMIC class eligibility
Student shows evidence of:
- High performance in English, Mathematics, Science, Geography and/or History
- A love for intellectual challenge
- High motivation to learn
- Strong drive to achieve their personal best
Evidence required for application
- Completed student questionnaire
- Year 6 Semester 1 report
- Year 5 NAPLAN results (if available)
- ONE annotated work sample that the student is proud of from Year 6. This may be a piece of work completed in class or for an extracurricular activity.
High potential and gifted MUSIC class eligibility
- Student has high musical potential and performance experience
- A minimum of AMEB Grade 3 or equivalent on their principal instrument
- A minimum of AMEB Grade 1 or equivalent in Music theory or musicianship
Evidence required for application
Upload ONE continuous video with no sound editing or video editing, including the following:
- Perform ONE piece of your choice reflecting the appropriate standard.
- Perform ONE Major scale ascending and descending.
- Perform ONE Minor (harmonic or melodic) scale ascending and descending.
- Say your full name at the start of the video
- Introduce each item before playing. Include the title of the piece and the composer.
- Accompaniment should be provided where required and, if possible.
- Name your File/Link as: firstname_lastname_instrument_2027CHSY7MusExn
- Upload the link to your unlisted YouTube video or Google Drive video in the relevant question below.
- Alternatively you can upload a word file with the link to your video pasted in the document.
- Complete all questions in this form.

Your high potential/gifted child will thrive at Concord High School. We have a dedicated academic extension stream and a specialised performing arts stream for students in Year 7 to 10. In these extension streams, your child will learn at an accelerated pace with similar-minded peers who also motivated, value challenge and high achievements. Your child will access exclusive extension and enrichment experiences such as advanced workshops, mentorships and competitions designed to challenge and inspire.

Inspire – High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.
